Desert Prowler
Looks like whoever's in charge of the Desert Prowler program is spending as much time making patches as they are on the project! Here are a few more patches from this project (there are two in the book).

The patch on the left says "Flight Test" on it, which is unlike other versions of the patch. The one on the right has lots of symbols on it. If you've read the book, you should be able to decode them!

UPDATE:

A number of people have pointed out that the figure on the Desert Prowler patch originally comes from an "Insane Clown Posse" album.

"I'm not sure who used this image first, but I know that the EXACT same image was released on a significantly popular album release from the rap group "the Insane Clown Posse". The album was entitled "The Wraith", after the man on the cover of the album (the figure)... NOW... this group had been releasing albums in previous years, calling their first one their "1st Joker's Card", the second their "2nd Joker's Card", etc. etc..
When "The Wraith" was released, it was their final and "6th Joker's Card". This COULD explain why there are 6 stars surrounding the figure in the patch."
The six stars depicted on the patch are also regularly associated with activities at "Area 51" (Five plus one = six stars, get it?)

B-12 - The Cat's Out of the Bag
This is a patch from an exceptionally interesting satellite launch: USA 144. Supposedly, USA 144 is the second MISTY "stealth" satellite. It's a crazy story. My next book has a whole chapter about it.

AVIS IN SPECULIS
This patch comes from some sort of UAV that was/is funded through the BIG SAFARI program. The patch has the BIG SAFARI shield above the eyes. There are a couple of BIG SAFARI patches in the book.
