Remnants of California
(DVD, approx. 10 minutes)
This video installation depicts a series of eroding human landscapes against the backdrop of a soundtrack composed from birds, animals, wind, earthquakes, and other "nature" sounds which suggest a landscape abandoned by its human inhabitants.

For the Bring Death to Men More Quickly We Have
Given Wings to Iron and Taught it to Fly

(DVD, approx. 12 minutes)
Named after a first-century quote by Pliny the Elder, this video tells the story of Maj. Mike Adams' death when his experimental aircraft disintegrated over the Mojave desert. Adams was a pilot for the 1960s X-15, a rocket-powered plane that travelled at almost seven times the speed of sound and flew at an altitude of over three hundered thousand feet.

As Adams' pilots his aircraft to the edge of space, a geomorphologist in the control tower explains to Adams how the Earth is like a machine. Interspersed with the footage of Adams' last flight is an interview with his flight engineer, who describes the circumstances around the X-15 program.
