Dual-Channel Video Installation

A collection of media collected over the course of the Recording Carceral Landscapes project. The left channel of the installation contains various video clips and the right channel provides an animated text describing the images in the left channel. The text explains the relevance of each clip to the “carceral landscape.” Video clips depict such diverse phenomena as state budget hearings, the poverty of rural California, promotional materials from the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA), and military testing in the California deserts.
